“Comfortable pleasant motel”

It's a shame there isn't a rating between average and very good as this motel was good but not outstanding. Our room was large as was the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet. There was a pleasant view of trees in full leaf from the large window. Tumbarumba is beautiful but there isn't really anywhere to sit outside at this motel to enjoy the sunshine unless you trek over to the park opposite which is further than you might think and doesn't have much seating (it was too wet to sit on the grass when we were there). With such a beautiful setting, this motel would be greatly improved by some outside seating areas. After all, the outdoors is what people come to the mountains for.

Hi LizfromNSW,

Thanks for staying with us here at our motel in Tumbarumba. Your feedback was useful and you've given us the idea to look at putting some seats out on the grass in the parkland at the front of the restaurant. We are also considering putting cushions on the seats at the BBQ area. Right now it's a beautiful summer day and finally stopped raining after your visit in December last year. Let us know when you are coming through town next and we'd love to see you back.

“Great stay in new rooms”

We had a 2 night stay in this little town, and treated ourselves to a renovated room. These rooms are very well presented and are clean and very appealing. The bathroom is huge with a walk in shower which would suit the disabled and also the elderly.
The restaurant was another highlight, we had some beautiful food there and the service was fantastic.
Can highly recommend the renovated rooms (not sure what the other rooms are like) and the restaurant, and will definitely return when I go to Tumbarumba again.

“Newly refurbished room with a lovely outlook”

We had a lower floor room that had jut been refurbished - it still smelt of paint and new carpets - but opening the windows helped. Outlook was nice - lots of trees. Close to the main street. Comfy bed and very quiet. Reasonable value for a small country town motel. Probably the best choice but much dearer than the Club Motel opposite the Bowling Club.
Have written a seperate review for the Elms restaurant which was ridiculously over priced :(

Thank you for review of our Motel and Restaurant. It is a real shame that you did not enjoy our Elms Restaurant experience. We have a wide variety of meals ranging at many different prices included a chef's special starting at $18.50 which is available every night. We have taken your opinion into consideration and we are now implementing new changes to our menu to suit a more budget orientated customer.

We are thrilled that you had an enjoyable stay in the newly renovated rooms and hope that you will return to find some changes being made for the better.

“Good value in convenient location”

Stayed one night between Sydney & Melbourne. Adequate facilities and no serious shortcomings so would definitely recommend for the price. Excellent design on one floor with car space outside every room, although gravel surface means vehicle noise can be a bitr intrusive late at night. If you want to eat at Elms restaurant check first as it's closed some nights.

Thank you very much for your input about our motel and restaurant on tripadvisor.

We are very glad that you had a great stay here in Tumbarumba. After your review of the restaurant we have evaluated our opening times and have a very experienced apprentice who loves to cook, so we are now open everyday except on a Sunday night. We have also opened up on most public holidays but it is always a good idea to book a table.

“Great stopover”

We stayed here for 1 night on our way back to Sydney from a camping trip in the Snowy Mountains. Room very clean and plesant. Bathroom a little disapointing as we were hoping for a 'soak' after camping but instead was just shower with not a lot of pressure. Would however recommend and stay again. Good inroom breakfast. Friendly staff.

We are sorry that you couldnt have a soak in the tub after your camping trip, however, we are not sure if your aware that we have spa rooms available at the motel.
