“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2011

I have stayed 11 days at this hotel and I can say it is very good. The room cleaning was done twice during this period. The room is big and it has everything; small kitchen with all necessary stuff, refrigerator, LCD tv, free wifi but no air conditioning (it wasn’t necessary during my period, but...). The parking was free in front of the hotel.

“Excellent”

Excellent stay, everything was clean, staff was very kind. Great pool, nice area. The only thing is that you need a car to get to Paris, it is like 30 minutes in bus to get to the metro Porte d'Orléans. Otherwise, excellent.

“Good price but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2008

I had read quite carefully reviews and information about this hotel before staying there but some things still came as a surprise.

Rooms:

First the positive things: quite ok price value for the money and rooms were as described. Quite spacious rooms with a kitchenette (fridge was a must for our family) Nothing fancy but ok. (the rubbish bin in the room was so ugly though, something I´ve only seen used in bathrooms)
(Negative things about the room: very hot in the summer and no airconditioning. bathroom was small but clean and new so it was ok.)

Pool:

The pool was the reason why we chose this hotel (and the price) and the pool was nice (expecially for the kids) but a big disappointment was to hear that it was out of order for the rest of the week . I would expect faster repairing for the pool since it can be a big reason for choosing this hotel in the first place.

Some more negative points:

Cleaning:

Cleaning was kind of ok but I guess it´s not the policy of the hotel to change the sheets during the stay (we stayed there for 6 nights) even if they could clearly see that the sheets are dirty. (our kids accidently poored some drink on the sheets and they got dry of course but stayed dirty. I didn´t ask for them to be changed but would have expected them to be changed since you could clearly see they were dirty) Luckily I had taken one extra sheet with me!

And another thing: the cleaners don´t wash the dishes ( I guess that´s also part of their policy and that´s ok since it´s the same in many other hotels too) but there wasn´t any cleaning material in the room so the first thing in the morning we had to buy some cleaning stuff to be able to wash the dishes.

Appearance:

The corridors of the hotel were very ugly especially the doors on the corridor that looked like in some hospital or factory?
The same lift was used by the cleaners and guests and sometimes I felt like we were using the maintenence lift since quite many times a cleaner came out of the lift with big sacs of dirty laundry.

The area and location:

The area next to the hotel wasn´t very attractive since there were a lot of car repairing shops around the hotel and a lot of repairing of the roads around the hotel. Actually it was very difficult to find a shop to buy food because we went to the wrong direction and ended up walking for a long time before finding one and once when we found one small shopping center it was more like a slum or ghetto, so dirty with broken windows and floors.

Clamart itself is quite attractive and beautiful area when you go a few kilometers further from the hotel.

The bus from the hotel to the closest RER station Issy took about 20 minutes but be aware that buses don´t run so often (during our stay just 3 times in an hour) so eventhoug the train to the center takes just around 10 minutes of maybe even less remember that you may have to wait for the bus and train connection so alltogether it might take an hour.

I don´t know what to say about the staff. There were so many different persons (some more friendly than others) at the desk but an average would be just 7 or 8 out of 10. They could understand English quite ok.

I would recommend ths hotel if you think the price is good for you and you don´t mind taking the 20 minute bus before the train or metro. And also if you don´t mind that the surroundings of the hotel are not so nice and the hotel itself is quite far from luxury.

Paris itself was great! Already missing it!

  • Liked — The pool and a room wiht a kithenette
