My mom and I made our way down from the Blue Mountains to experience the other side of Jamaica - her beaches. Using public transport, and after a roughly 2 hour journey, we finally arrived at the gates of Strawberry Hill. As we sat in the back of the taxi we were approached by Agape (co-owner), a smiling, down to earth, young woman who welcomed us like an old friend.
Yerba Buena is situated on a family-run farm and located within a few steps of the Caribbean. Everything at Yerba Buena Guest Cabins is in-line with green initiatives and is 100 percent all natural. From the daily meals, graciously made available by Agape, to the construction of the two cabins, which are made from local stone and wood, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything ecologically unfriendly offered here!
If hanging around the farm, relaxing in your cabin, or swimming in the sea doesn't appeal to you, then Agape and Kwao would be more than willing to help set up a plethora of local activities. From a daily trip to Ocho Rios (the largest town close to Strawberry Hill), to a walk ending at Black Sand Beach (where you can have fish caught and prepared right there on the beach!) you can find activities to suit an individual just passing through, or an entire family looking to know Jamaica, starting at her roots.
Agape, Kwao, and their five children are ready to pick you fresh fruit daily, do everything they can to ensure you are comfortable, and make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
