I have stayed at the Chateau Hotel Mont Royal on several occasions and the experience is bucket list worthy. The hotel is first rate and the restaurant is a culinary masterpiece. Short drive from central Paris, I highly recommend a weekend stay for two. I've also organized a two day business retreat there and it's ideal for creative planning sessions.

Having visited Mont Royal Chantilly a few times...going back with our young daughter this time was different....and we had again a great and relaxing time. The staff make it very easy to be with your child and your dog..everything was setup in our room and the staff was beyond accommodating!!. I highly advise those wishing to get out of Paris or visit more than just Paris to come here to unwind with or without your family. The food at the restaurant is excellent as the dishes are unique and the service impeccable. Every time we come we promise to visit Chantilly but we can never leave this property as it so easy to just relax...and who wants to leave when you're catching up on rest...

In reading good reviews I decided to try this lovely Chateau in Paris after travelling 6 days in Paris central. My husband and I wanted to get a relaxing last couple of days prior to leaving. The hotel is lovely as portrayed in the pictures. The food is pricey but understandable as we stayed for Christmas Eve's fixed menu. The service is excellent and cannot rave enough during my dinner service and brunch service.

The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the comfort of the bed. As much as I enjoyed the beauty, elegance, ambiance and food at the hotel my husband and I could not sleep 2 out of the 3 night stay. We stayed in the royale room at the Chateau. Maybe the other rooms had softer beds. The rooms also are not soundproof and I"m very sensitive to noise. As a result you can hear each time someone closes a door in the hallway. My main concern was not having a good nights sleep.

Our research for a short stay in a chateau not far from the Paris region, resulted in an alarming conclusion :

Most of the chateaux have a fantastic look on the outside but inside is more like living in a dungeon (furniture with bad tastes, cold, dark straight ugly). If at all the castle was good, either they were closed for the winter season (stay during the second week of December) or they were fully booked.

We choose Tiara mostly for its good reviews. Well nowadays you cannot solely rely on good reviews because of dubious postings by ghost reviewers (I personally suspect one Indian chain).

Tiara is situated near the Roissy CDG Paris International Airport in the north of France. So if at all you are stranded at the Roissy airport this chateau can be a good solution for a calm retreat. And the good part is that you do not have to worry about traffic jams because it is north to the airport outside Paris.

Even though the entrance is nice when you arrive the building does not look like your classic image of a chateau. Once you are inside that you measure the fact how a good chateau look like. Big large entrances, ceiling high, great staircase...

Most of all everything respires nice good tastes. We had a deluxe room with a cot for our child. My wife made the last minute reservation from her cell while I was driving the car, and the booking was done very professionally and smoothly. We were glad that the room with the extra bed was prepared exactly as to what was talked over the telephone.

The room was like the rest of the premises. Spacious and decorated with very good tastes. My wife and I child tried the heated small swimming pool at the hotel and they were satisfied.

Although pricey, we had our breakfast in the main restaurant whose setting is just splendid.

The only small problem we faced was the room service. Not wishing to lose Leno's night show (I do not have cable in my home), I ordered room service while my wife and daughter wanted to dine in the very cosy bar/restaurant. I ordered a cabillaud, and the waited came to the room with the heated fish exposed ! Consequently, as soon as he entered the room, the stench was unbearable. While he saw that the afternoon tea we had taken in the room was not removed, he simply did not propose to clear them away.

Except for this small pickle, everything went fine. The reception was professional.

This is one of the place which boasts of its stars. And this place largely merits its four stars.
