First off, I would like to point out that the name in their front gate (Canyon
Cove Hotel and Spa) is a misnomer, as it currently has no spa. However, they offer room service massages.
This is a nice place in general. Simple, and the rooms have a touch of elegance to it. We stayed in a Superior Room, which has a day bed placed by the window facing the sea. It also has a veranda, and everything was obviously well-maintained. The room has a fridge, but no minibar.
The beach is long, with clear water, but with rough stony sands. They offer activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, jestkiing, etc. Depending on how you like your waves, you'll either like or hate that the resort has a breakwater installed, so no surfing, and skimboarding would only be flatland (but the stony sand would put a very long ding on your board). I got stung by a jellyfish, but the resort couldn't be faulted for that.
The staff are corteous enough, and helpful, but we did not fail to note that we put up our "Please make up room" sign on the doorknob and stayed on the beach and pool all day. When we came back, we were disappointed to see the sign still on the doorknob and the room still unmade.

We asked to schedule a massage, but they would not have us simultaneously, as they wouldn't have oil on the hotel bed, only 1 massage bed would fit in the superior room.
It is a nice place, and well maintained, great for a weekend away from the hassles of the city.More
