“Jazz Festival wedding in spectacular setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Married on Friday of the Guinness Jazz Festival 28/10/2011.
To Teresa, all of the staff of the Celtic Ross, we can`t thank you all enough for the way all our guests, young, old and our daughter were looked after.

Celtic Ross is situated in a place where the views are spectacular, staff are charming and very warm, it feels like home from home.Teresa is the most relaxed person in the world to deal with, nothing fazes her, especially last minute hitches, without her we would have been lost.

Wedding days are remembered for the food and the Music.. Menus were catered to our liking, the variety to choose from was unreal, we spent days on end changing our minds..On the big day, one word for the chef.. Magnificent..The food was plentiful, great selections to choose from, and hit all the right spots when served, I wish chef Linda cooked for us every Sunday! The music (Shine) kept us on the floor for the night, by the end of the night we knew and were so happy that everyone had enjoyed themselves.

The honeymoon suite is huge, well laid out, with a great view of the beach and makes you feel like you are really special people.

I would recommend the Celtic Ross to everyone for their wedding and any function big or small. It is the ideal setting for a day that you`ll cherish for the rest of your lives.
Teresa is the ideal wedding coordinator, her attention to detail is second to none, she looked after Clare like she was her own, when we told her that Clare had surgery the week before the wedding, and told her not to worry about a thing. Its the little things that make the big day feel real special.
As a venue, its hard to beat it for value for money, no hidden charges and a day you`ll never forget for the rest of your life.

Gary and Clare.

“Great Food, Fab Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed here on a fab sunny day for the "Festival of the Sea". We arrived to a bustling wedding & a gaa match. The atmosphere was great.
Parking perfectly located to the side & front of the hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring west Cork....Clonakilty, Ownahincha, Glandore,The Warren & of course Rosscarbery.
Our room was located to the right hand side of the hotel in an adjoining room. The room was basic but clean.
The Food was fantastic, crab with brown bread followed by steak.
The staff were extremely helpful, made you feel right at home............

Room Tip: Don't accept an adjoining room you can hear everything hence poor sleep quality!

“New Years Eve High Maintenance Bride”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Just married - 31/12/2011. To Teresa and all the staff in the Celtic Ross thank you so much for taking care of all our guests, old, young and very young on our day.

The best aspect of The Celtic Ross is it's friendly and motherly staff. They created a happy stress-free family environment and seemed to anticipate what each guest wanted and needed before we even knew it ourselves.

The head chef at The Celtic Ross, Linda, is all about new ideas and menues and our wedding meal was cooked, presented and served with attention to smallest of detail. I've one word to describe the meal - DELICIOUS. i went for the 2 main courses!! The afters food went down a treat - well you can't go wrong when you are served west cork bacon butties cooked to perfection, Field's salad rolls and Champagne at midnight - compliments of The Celtic Ross.

The Honeymoon suite is very comfortable and cosy and very easy to find at 6:00am after a fun night on the dance floor!!

I would highly recommend The Celtic Ross as a Wedding Venue or Function Venue be it black tie or otherwise. Teresa is the woman for the job. She took us under her wing and guided us and kept the show on the road. As a venue it is excellent value for money, with no hidden costs.

Go Raibh Mile Maith Agaibh Go Léir

Room Tip: Ask for the honeymoon suite!!!

travelled here with my fiance. looking at pictures it looked like the room would have a great view but when we arrived in our room the veiw for our window was a graveyard. went to the lesuire club which is fairly poor and could do with a complete revamp. hotel is very good otherwise, food is also great. not much to do around the area,we travelled to skibberean which is about half an hour away which is a large town.a great hotel for exploring though we had found some lovely spots while we stayed.ask for a room facing the front of the hotel if staying

Dear Shaneo1746,

Thank you for your review regarding your stay with us last August. Delighted you had some positive experiences, and sorry that not every aspect of our Hotel pleased you.
Not all our rooms have a sea / lagoon view, and it would depend how close to your stay that you booked, as you can imagine, all guests request a view room, which we offer on a first booking basis. We take on board your comments and this will assist us going forward.

Thanking you

“Nice base to explore West Cork”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

We booked a room here at the last minute and would like to thank the staff at the hotel for hosting us at such short notice. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the room that we were allocated was nice and clean.

We ate a quick meal at the bar which was delicious (I think the restaurant was closed for that night). Our room was large and clean which was great for a three-star hotel.

Breakfast the next morning was good and checking out was nice and easy.

All in all, it's great value and we would recommend this place to others as a base to explore west Cork.
