On arrival the hotel exterior, lobby and bar areas looked very nice with Christmas decorations making it seem very seasonal and cosy. We were shown to our attic room but had to ask for info about breakfast times, late entry arrangements etc. There didn't seem to be any further info in our room about the hotel, restaurant or bar except for general info about the hotel chain's Christmas and New Year offers. Although the room was spacious and clean, there was paper peeling off the ceilings, signs of damp round the bathroom and some dated fixtures and fittings. The shower was particularly disappointing with very weak pressure. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable with nice bedding and the room was warm and well lit with a good number of ppts for charging phones etc. I personally felt the rooms were a little bit overpriced overall, given how visible some of the problems were.
Breakfast in the morning was good, and we were served by a friendly member of staff who also helped us check out. It was OK, but just lacked the attention to detail I would expect from the price.
