I stayed at the hotel for one night on a business trip. The room (no. 4) was small but clean with a nice en-suite shower plus a good heater which warmed up the room in minutes. I had to do some work for the next day but there was no chair provided so I had to do this sitting on the bed (not a major problem and, while a little cramped, would not put me off staying again). The bed itself was superbly comfortable and I had a fantastic night sleep. There is a neat wall mounted TV, with freeview, and nice big mugs to make yourself a good cup of tea/coffee.
I ate in the restaurant from the Indian menu which was delicious. However, the portions were massive (the naan bread was the size of a pizza) and far too big for one person. I would suggest that they provide the option of smaller portions.
As other reviewers have stated, the owners gave me a warm welcome and are genuinely friendly hosts, far better than the average chain hotel.
I have stayed at equally good hotels but none better than this and I won’t hesitate to stay again should my work bring me back to this area.

Really nice hotel great staff and great food. Only one problem is the lack of a decent size car park. I am sure though it could be got around though.

Stayed here for a week April 2011. I stay away around 30 weeks a year nationally. Normally in chain hotels. This was closer (15 mins) to Gainsborough and better value. Not formulaic as the chains are. Really good food at good prices, good bar, flexible and amiable staff. Amicable locals. Room (single) smaller than the chains but good facilities (LCD TV with DVD/ divx/ freeview/ radio & decent wifi ), coffee & tea and a good shower. Spotlessly clean and a comfortable firm double bed. Bar downstairs with sports TV and occasional event nights is not detectable upstairs. Food is done to a great standard with a speciality indian menu or tradional british pub fare. Nothing seems to be too much trouble if you want a variation. The breakfast menu is flexible and good quality.

a good value place to stay. well presented dinning and bar area. rooms a little on the small side but very clean, modern, quiet and fit for purpose.
more toiletries ie shower gel and shampoo would have been nice.
