Get your quick guide to the top hotels, restaurants and things to do.
My son is getting married on N.Y.'s eve and we are looking for a good restaurant to host the rehearsal dinner. Needs to be able to accommodate a fairly large group of people (30+).
Not necessarily really fancy, but interesting and great food.

Do you mean specifically in Cambridge, MA?
I know that Lucia's in the North End has a nice function room upstairs. I've been to a dinner of about that size and thought it was a great space.
In Cambridge, I think the Sheraton Commander could do something for you.
Pretty much any hotel can probably host a rehearsal dinner for you, but I prefer function rooms in restaurants.
How about Upstairs on the Square? Only problem is it might be a bit expensive.
Rendez Vous in Central Square can accommodate private parties. They have excellent food. On the more casual side, Russel House Tavern in Harvard Square can do private events too.
