 One evening in Dallas/FW

We have a Friday night stop over on our way to Belize and just looking for suggestions for things to do in one short evening. We arrive at 3pm and we're staying at a Holiday Inn in Center Station Drive in Fort Worth. We will not have a car and will rely on public transit.

You are in a very good place to have take the Trinity Rail (commuter) Express into either downtowns of Fort Worth (Intermodal Center - ITC) or Dallas (Union Station). I'm fairly certain the Holiday Inn will shuttle you to the CentrePort station about a mile away - verify they will also provide the return.

One note of caution - because it is a business commuter rail, it's weeknight schedule stops around 9:30p leaving FW and 11:00p leaving Dallas. Unless you want to pay a lofty taxi fare, you do not want to miss the last trip.

If you plan to go to only Dallas *or* FW, you would want the

Day Pass, 1 ZONE TRE (east or west), $7.00

If you decide to go to both cities, you'd need the

Day Pass, REGIONAL (2 zones), $10.00

In Fort Worth, there are a number of restaurant and entertainment options in the walkable downtown area of Sundance Square - take the circular Molly the Trolly.

If you take the train over to Dallas, the trip will terminate at Union Station. Reunion Tower is a short walk through a tunnel and you could eat at Five Sixty (or maybe just appetizers and a drink) while looking out over Dallas.

If you'll be in Fort Worth, might as well stay in Ft Worth. Keep in mind that most attractions will close at 5pm, BUT...the Modern Art Museum in Ft Worth is open until 8pm. They have a really great restaurant on site too. http://www.themodern.org/visit.html

pepper- the hotel is right in the middle- just on the border of FW, Arlington, Irving, near the Centre Port train station, pretty equi-distant to FW or Dallas.

Oh...I have no idea where it is... :-) But when I see Fort Worth...well, I think Ft Worth... :-)

The OP might not even like museums....hopefully we'll hear back.

BTW - I loved our meal at 560 in Reunion Tower, but you will want a reservation.

(nitpicking, yes... but FW, Irving, Arlington, Euless and Grand Prairie all have geographic ownership in a very tiny area along the line immediately east and west of 360 - bazaar mapping )

I was on 360 once and got lost...no idea where I ended up. That whole area is a blur....
