Spending three days in Oak Ridge in September. I'd appreciate any suggestions about good places to eat.

Big Ed's pizza has great pizza. Pizza, beer and soft drinks are all that's on the menu and they do pizza very well. It's a local institution and people from all over make the trek to Big Ed's. We always make a point to go at least once when we're in the area.

I found Applebee's to be a good place for a solo traveler. It was lively and friendly, had sports on many TVs and had a bar to eat at and chat with the locals. A big warning to anyone visiting Oak Ridge- they have speed trap cameras with alleged 20 mph signs on a turnpike. I was unable to see such a sign, but the fine was assessed anyway.
