You are on the edge of town at the Sarum but it is only a 10 minute walk into the centre and 5 minutes to get to some smaller shops. You are probably best going into town for a supermarket, there is a reasonably sized co-op just as you approach the main shoping centre, they tend to be cheaper than the Checkers Express stores.
You have 2 ways of getting to town, you can turn left from the end of your road and then right which takes you along the Parade where there are some reasonable restaurants, probably the best in that area being Ad Lib.
For a different walk you can turn right at the end of your road, follow the park towards the sea front and then turn left past the front of the Grand Hotel and this will take you towards the waterfront which is on your right.
The Opera House is not far away and there is a multiplex cinema at the waterfront if the weather is not good during your visit.
You are about a 10 minute stroll to the bus station from where you can get to various parts of the Island if you haven't hired a car (car hire is recommended if you having parking at your accommodation).
