 Lunch/Dinner Buffets

Looking forward to my first time in Deadwood in a few months (November). With so many casinos in the area, I'd imagine there's quite a few buffets. What's the best? Regardless of price and then for best for value? I don't imagine they'd compare to Vegas buffets but would they be like an Old Country?

It's been a while since I've done any of the Deadwood buffets. Skythedog, the DE for Deadwood, recommended Four Aces and Silverado in a previous post. I have been to the Four Aces, although not recently, and I do recall it being pretty good. It is true that these places don't compare to the Vegas buffets, but then again, the entire town really doesn't compare. The casinos are quite small; most of them are old converted stores.

I don't know your plans, but if you like buffets, many like the one at the State Game Lodge. It's served during lunch hours only.

Have a great trip.

Thanks sirtravelplanner!

Buffets make for an easy dinner/lunch choice for the family, usually at reasonable prices. I will look into your suggestions.

Can't wait to visit Deadwood. I stayed in Keystone last year and missed so much of the surrounding area. Been reading all night of Deadwood's history and its fascinating!

Silverado has a nice buffet that is well done with prime rib, crab legs etc. It's a bit pricey but you are paying for better than average quality. If you are looking for a bargain buffet the Golden Coral in Rapid City is hard to beat -- about $10 a person.

I like the Golden Corral too!! It's definitely better than Old Country and is a solid value chain. The one in Rapid is quite good. That would certainly be another possibility.

there is a lot of history to Deadwood "but" that is all there is. All the old buildings are gone. It is just a "casino" hole in the wall. Except for "Boot Hill" and seeing Wild Bill's grave, time to move on.

2 thumbs up for the Silverado's buffet. Went to the lunch buffet on Saturday. Very fresh food. Cooks kept coming out from the back to refill the buffet items. Prime rib was tasty...a bit fatty but tons of flavour. Pizza was also very tasty. The dessert table was a bit lacking though but I don't need too much dessert anyways so it wasn't a problem. Great value at $13.50 or so for lunch.
