Charlotte Forum: Is downtown Charlotte deserted on a weekend night?

Just about anything is fine... I wanted to be sure the city didn't completely close up on weekends.

Always crowds around the Epicentre & Fox & Hound area.

Also, as you have several theatres (Belk, Booth, Knights, etc.), Saturday is definitely a lively night...

Saturday night is definitely anything but deserted uptown. I think you will find exactly what you're looking for! :)

Thanks so much for the advice and links- I think we'll have a great time in Charlotte!

The uptown area is now a very active scene, not just clubs, but late night cafe's and restaurants.

A good place to watch people, enjoy a few sidewalk musicians, and if you are in the mood, a white carriage horse ride through town.

Security is good, and there is a police presence.

No, but parts are. It is just a really big city so there are blocks that look completely deserted where the big banks, insurance companies (9-5 people) are. If you check uptown, it is pretty hip and happening almost every night.
