 three or four nights

Planning staying a Selus Riverside Safari Jan.2012,before continuing on to Zanzibar. Would 3 nights be enough for a first safari or 4 nights better? I'm wondering if on arrival ,having travelled overnight from the U.K. we will be too tired to appreciate our first day,

The time in a park is never enough. Every day is different. If you can stay for 4 nights, go for it. In Selous you can have game drive (in jeep), boat and walking safari, also visit a local village...there are a lot of activities.

Have Fun

I agree.

The more days you are in the Park the more chance of seeing more.

Bearing in mind that the day of arrival is one night this is only leaving you two full days to see what you have come to see. Four nights are therefore going to add 50% to your game viewing time/experience.

More so if as I assume you have just flown into DAR overnight to catch the hopper to the Selous. You will need that afternoon to rest (a little) although no jet lag due to time zone only 2-3 hours different.

James,

The lady already has her booking and does not need your services.

Your touting for Predators is putting the firm's reputation in a bad light.

With 4 nights, (and I agree more is better), why not try 2 different camps or locations?

Adventure Camps runs a rustic camp at Lake Manze and a more comfy one at Selous Impala.

Changing camps would allow you to see more of the reserve. There are about a dozen to choose from.

Ditto to those who suggest 4 nights. I often find that fatigue wears off really quickly when I've got something great to do. And game rides or boat safaris in the evening certainly are great.
