Most lodges in the Selous don't open until the beginning of July, realistically either you need to delay your plans or go further north.

Actually, pretty much all the lodges open Jun 1 in Selous. In fact, from what I can tell, they all open Jun 1.

I don't think there's a problem booking in June if you get availability. Weather might be another question, but the general belief is that the rainy season is April and May.
