My family is going on safari mid June to Kenya then Tanzania. We are staying at Grumeti River Camp and Selous Safari Camp in Tanzania. Wondering if anyone knows a way to do some good Tiger fishing while we are there?

Hi there,
Selous Safari Camp should be able to organise it for you in one of the lakes in the Reserve. You may have to pay an extra fishing fee to the Game Reserve, but it's not a lot of money.

Fishing is usually only allowed outside the reserve and selous safari camp is inside. However they should be able to assist you in achieving this at hopefully not an enormous cost to yourselves.
Hi
Selous says that they are not really set up for iger fishing and could only allow it from the banks of the river- which is affected by tide. Have you heard if there is good Tiger fishing in the area or know of any way to arrange for it?
There is no tide. There may be differences in the water level depending on when you go, and the recent rainfall.
It should be easy enough to arrange when you are there. I'd be surprised if you can fish from the bank - you would only attract crocs.
When you get there, you'll see the situation. There are boats, and large lakes which connect to the river system. Sometimes both can be very shallow and so not up to good fishing.
Thanks for your response. So it sounds like it should be pretty easy to put together once we get there.
As their website says "subject to conditions and payment of fee".
Personally, I think there will be other attractions which will be of greater interest than the fishing, and I think the fishing may not be that great due to shallow water, but as long as you are flexible and this isn't the main reason for your visit, then you should be OK.
