Selous Game Reserve Forum: Need advices for honeymoon trip at Selous?

http://www.selousriversidecamp.com is the web site address. Everything seems very well. My only doubt is the distance from park. If it's to much or the way to park is also enjoyable?

Have you read what is said about it on the ATR site?

Its a compromise. You get more luxury, but at a lower price than if you were in the park.

So - you have to make a choice. Have you read the reviews on here? No mention of the road journey. I suspect its fairly minor distance.

Hi, We were at Selous in October,we stayed at Beho Beho,there were alot of honeymooners staying there,it is a little pricey but maybe you could stay 3 nights instead of 4,the place has all that you would expect.Congrats!

The area around the eastern gate has plenty wildlife but on balance I would take Lake Manze (for the week and forget Zanzibar) and enjoy the ambience of being in the Bush where Elephants actually come into Camp for a drink (quite safe!!) and dining under the stars is the norm. I can't wait to go back.

i just got back from Selous and Ruaha. I highly recommend Selous impala camp for honeymooners (Slightly luxurious and exclusive than Manze). Manze is lovely, but as mentioned earlier by peterscot, dining is communal. However one evening they would arrange a special one for you. Its truly an experience worth trying. I met lot of honeymooners in Manze.

I was also planning to stay outside the reserve. But thanks to Peterscot and mfuwe, I went ahead and booked with Manze and Selous Impala. The experience is truly awesome.

Interesting that Manze will do a 'honeymoon' dinner now. Just too much game around for me to relax in the dark.. :-) Even the bush babies made me jump! Then there's the civet...
