Hi Karl, my husband and I (61 and 60) are looking for a private tour in Tanzania. We read great reviews on their WEBb page from 2008 and earlier. However there is NONE from 2009 or 2010. Trip advisor have very few and they all are old. Ecxept one from 2010 and that one is not so good. We do not mind paying for great service and luxury camps but want very reliable and preferably local operator who does custom taylord tours in Tanzania. Can you please help us ?

Almost all safari operators will be able to provide you with a private safari, and in fact most safaris in Tanzania are private safaris. Group safaris are unusual. I don't know which safari operator you are looking at. Lukula Selous is a private camp in the Selous area, but I believe it is booked through Bush and Beyond. If this is the operator you are looking at then i would suggest that you get a Tanzanian operator, they are a Kenyan operator I believe.

You can find a lot of safari operators suggested here, and most any of them can do luxury accommodations if that's what you desire. For a start you might look in the upper right hand corner of the web page and you'll find a list of Top Questions about Tanzania, one of these questions near the bottom of he list concerns safari operators. Click on that link and you'll be taken to a post which provides you with some suggestions on how to find a safari operator. Another way is to go to the member page of www.tatotz.com and they will have a lot of operators. In any case I would certainly suggest that you contact at least 5 or 6 operators and ask them for a quote on an itinerary, telling them all the same thing. Then compare the different companies.
