Zanzibar Forum: Hotel Advice

I'm looking at booking a trip to Zanzibar at the end of February and the 3 hotels I'm currently looking at are: Sea Cliff Resort & Spa, Diamonds La Gemma dell' Est and Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort.

Currently leaning towards the Sea Cliff Resort & Spa, however I'm worried that it appears to be a little 'in the middle of nowhere' and that I'll be pretty much stuck in the hotel with no nearby bars/restaurants/shops etc. Does anyone know if this will be the case?

For location are Diamonds La Gemma dell' Est and Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort any better? They appear to be in/near Nungwi but I'm struggling to find any information on resort areas so don't know if this means there are more options near the hotel or not.
