 Casino host question

What should your gambling level be at to make is worth working with a casino host as opposed to just callling the Casino Marketing lines.

I travel to Vegas 2 - 3 times a year. I am currently high Pearl with mlife should be Gold on next visit, usually make 2,000 points on card per stay.

Also in my 2 night stay at Encore, made over 2,000 points on card.

Would I benefit from speaking to a host? I am planning a trip for May.

Speaking only from my own experience, I 'earned' 110k Mlife tier credits last trip (which was a week long).I hit Gold tier on day five of the week, never having had a players card before.Average was around $3500 coin in per day slots plus some blackjack.

A host found me when I checked out, comping another $500 off my bill on top of express comps and has sorted me a nice deal at Aria for this April.Definitely nice to have someone looking after you.

I get the impression that they will encourage me to return playing at that level, but I'm not exactly the type of player they will role out the red carpet for either : ) Can't imagine Wynn/Encore would be that interested in that level....

Typically, the hosts will find you if they feel their services can be beneficial. Many on this board disagree though. I only have hosts at a couple of lower-level properties and both times they sought me out. Usually, the "corporate" offer is better than what they can give me up-front, but they're usually helpful on the back-end of the trip.

With all due respect, your average is kind of low compared to most hosted players. At MGM Grand, they really want to see $100+ a hand before they'll approach a table games player ($50+at Luxor). I don't play slots, but maybe someone who does at a higher level can give you a ballpark figure. I would still suggest you introduce yourself at the mlife/Club Grazie desks and see if there's anything they can do for you after you've played/prior to checking out..

darrenfromind is correct on levels of play at certain hotels for a host a level of $100 a hand for the required time to be played might get you some meals at wynns ,,,,,but as darrenfromind said at other hotels your comps would be great,,and even at the golden nugget theres not that much difference in play if you want the rfb and i mean suites not rooms and fine dining and i am still anxious to see if the mgm skyloft is nicer than the tower spa suite i was in at the gn ,,,,,, going to skyloft rfb all arrainged with my host last thurs weekend of april for 5 nights my son from bc who was with me at aria penthouse last nov and wife and son will be staying at aria skysuites 2 bedrrom penthouse ,,,my daughter in law doesn;t like mgm on account of the large crowds she said she has never cared to stay at the lofts

Gord I've always thought that if a host was interested, they'd find the player.. Do you think that's still the case...or do you think sometimes the player should take the initiative to reach out to them?

I can't wait to read your trip report my friend.. I can't leave until June. I hope you get to post a YouTube video of your skyloft.

darrenfromind if your playing at a higher level be it table games or slots ,, theres always someone watching .. im not talking $ or 25 cents slots or $ 25 bj

when your playing $$$ plus plus a hand every large bet you do and if your on a winning streak the pit boss is right there watching thats why when your ready to leave they always want your chips to cash out

and regarding writing a trip report i'm not good at it and will mention if i like it the loft and will have a lot of pictures of the loft whithin the 5 days i will be there

Okay straight answer 2-3 trips per year to make Pearl with an average trip of 2,000 points won't be enough action for a host most likely. If your playing slots m life gives you 10 points for every 2 dollars coin in. Not sure of the table calculation. Here's a good breakdown of there program FAQ.

Just stop by the Mlife desk and they will be able to tell you if you qualify better than we could. Good luck!

Well, my play is on the lower end of Platinum Mlife 290k points last year. We went 5 times so I was doing on avg 60k points total for a 3 night stay (almost all slots). My host at the B has been really candid with me that they expect 30000 points per day based on the offers I'm getting which I am not meeting obviously, but my host at Aria is happier and my host atthe MC loves it when I stay there (Hotel32).

My point is that each property has a different expectation of play, and when I go to Las Vegas, I usually pick the best offer overall which tends to be the Aria. But this upcoming trip in March, Bellagio is giving me the best offer. I'm sure my host at Aria would match it, but since the B offered it first, I took it.

Thanks for the advice.

It also helps to decide to give all my gambling budget to one source, rather than mixing it up between three (currently mlife, Wynn and Cosmo). I am probably spreading it around too thin to amount to much at each place.

We have never asked for a host. All of our hosts approached us. In fact, at least twice (Venetian and Bellagio), a host approached us while we were playing. We were in the high limit slots areas, and a host walked up to us, handed us a business card, introduced herself, and asked us if she could be of any assistance. Other hosts have sent a bottle of wine or a fruit basket or something else to our room, as a means of introduction.

When we made Noir, a host came up to us to present us with the black cards.

The hosts are anxious to add you to their client lists, if you qualify. So they will seek you out , one way or another.

Can someone clarify 'COIN IN" does that mean your points allocated are on the amount of $ physically inserted into the machine or is it calculated on that $ amount in reel turnover. The reason i ask is that if you insert $100 dollars straight up and win a collect of say $1000 dollars with that original $100 and elect to continue to play with your machine credit, you only receive your points on the $100 inserted and not the $1000 in credits.
