“ MGM Grand renovation... will it be a problem??? ”

We are booked 1/2 our trip at Mirage and other 1/2 at MGM Grand ~ both places we like and have stayed at before. Im concerned about the renovation at MGM tho, especially since its 3/14-18 which is super busy with MCAA and St Pattys day. Mandalay Bay just came up with a deal that puts it exactly same price as MGM those dates. I've stayed there too and it was good, except location-wise.

So how much of an issue is the renovation? enuf to switch to MB for same $$ despite the fact that Im no fan of MB's location?

Hotels do reno's all the time.

Not sure what problems you are concerned about.

There will be lots of rooms already completed.

We are staying away from MGM during our upcoming trip just for those reasons exactly! There are already a few reviews complaining of the construction noise.

Obviously I'm concerned about construction noise / mess. And it's worse in some hotels than others. Curious if anyone who's been to MGM recently could tell me how bad it is.

Even if there was no construction, Mandalay Bay is vastly superior. I have been to hotels that were being renovated and not had problems, I've also suffered with noise too. Why bother to take the risk?

Ktinka, good point. I just don't love MB's location, but since we're down at the other end for 3 days maybe we won't even notice.

I was actually wondering this same time. I *might* be staying there in July and wondering if the renovation caused any noise or maybe closed things to do in the casino and so on.

p.s. I would be staying in a non-renovated room in the Grand Tower.
