I'll do my best to update each day. :)
Day 1 - We got very little sleep the night before our flight left at 6:30 from Iowa, so the boyfriend and I were both pretty tired.
After a two hour layover in Denver, we arrived in Vegas at 10:30. As we flew in with the cityscape under us, we were both feeling optimistic.
The cabby was actually pretty nice and gave us absolutely no argument or grumpiness when the boyfriend said "Bally's, no tunnel please." He made for really good conversation on the way to the hotel, and we ended up tipping him well. Personable cab drivers can be awesome.
Arriving at Bally's, we scoped out the front desk and could tell it looked pretty busy, so we decided to just check out luggage and head out for food.
Our tradition for our first meal in Vegas has always been Le Village, so we headed over there and got there about 1:30. The place had actually gone up in quality since we were last there. The biggest thing of note is that the made to order crepes had improved, with more options and better quality. The SO had a La Caprese with chicken, and said that it was one of the best crepes he ever had and was something he could honestly eat every day for the rest of his life. I asked him what he would pay for it, and he said $30. My crepe, the Le Forestier, was good, but had too many mushrooms (and I like mushrooms). The desserts were also delicious. The boyfriend got me a new camera, a DSLR, before the trip, so I had fun getting pictures of some of the food.
After that, we both had to end up taking a nap because of the lack of sleep.
We woke up at about 4 and, because my current open-toed shoes were hurting me and you can't wear sneakers with a skirt, headed down to All My Sole to find me something else open-toed. The saleslady, Fylicity, was very nice and helpful and we ended up settling on a pair of flipflops.
After heading back up with the new shoes in hand to change my clothes, it was to the casino at Bally's where we found our beloved WoZ and threw in a 20. Sitting there for a half hour, we were disappointed to not see any cocktail waitresses come by at all, so we got up and were about to go when one showed up. We placed our drink orders and sat back down. It was 10 minutes before she was back with our drinks. Getting up to $45 at one point, we cashed out at $30 because the cocktail service had been lacking and decided to go find something to do elsewhere.
We wandered over to Caesar's with our $30 voucher and tried to use it in the LOTR slot machine, as we could have sworn that CET properties could do this before, but apparently now you can't. So we just threw in a $20 and watched as that cold machine just ate it up with no return or bonus rounds.
We then headed over to Bill's. The boyfriend was curious about the Battleship LotR game, so we threw in a $10. The game was kind of boring, and not just because it ate the $10.
I checked in on Foursquare and got a 2-for-1 drink coupon because of it, so we headed over to the bar to get myself a strawberry daquiri and the boyfriend a sapphire and lemonade, which was apparently really strong.
We were getting hungry again, so we headed over the to Burger Brasserie so he could get the kobe burger there, which he loves. The food was good, as was the service. We got the fries to go and, since we were both still pretty tired, passed out was too early at about 10 back in our hotel room.
