Where are the good golf courses in the Kalispell area and where would you suggest we stay?
Do a web search using these key words; "best golfing in Montana". There are lots of web sites describing the many many golf coarses in Montana. I would suggest staying at the Outlaw Inn. Nice but not too pricy and they have a decent restraunt.
Good suggestion, Nomadiyak, about googling for golf. However, my opinion differs greatly from yours in the recommendation of the Outlaw Inn. Many years ago it was THE place to stay. Now it is in sad disrepair. The good restaurant that once was there is no longer. Read the current TA reviews to get a better sense of what's going on at the Outlaw. I would not recommend it until the new owners sink several million into refurbishing it. (could be a while).
In the meantime, Kalispell, Bigfork and Whitefish are flourishing with excellent hotels and restaurants, many of them sparkling new. They are all listed here at TA. InsightsWisconsin, ask more specific questions after you've read the reviews that are posted. Recommendations would be based on what your needs and preferences are....luxury or economical? waterfront or view? downtown or countryside?
More on golf: The Eagle Bend course in Bigfork is pretty famous. Also, contact the Chamber of Commerce for Bigfork, Whitefish, Kalispell an even Polson. They all have complete listings of the many courses.
What do you like in a golf course? How much, what do you want in your accomodations?
golf; Eagle Bend in BigFork is a 27. Play the origninal 18 and add the lake 9 if you want 27. Whitefish has 2 @ 18. The older lake course and then the woods course which is newer and tighter. Meadow Lake has a fun 18 with water on a number of holes. Those are my favorites.
accomodations; no to the Outlas\w
Best in the area is the Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Meadowwood in Col;umbia Falls is a Timeshare complex with a hotel that is nice. Some other standards including Holiday Inn and Hilton Garden Inn.
THX, K2Kelly, I forgot you are our local expert when it comes to golf as well as hiking and many other things!
Thank you for the recommendations. We are all pretty good golfers with my son and husband in the single #'s for handicap. They're looking for challenging with some nice views and a hotel or resort with nice views. We've never been so I don't know about water verses mountain views. What would you recommend. Thank you
