I'm considering staying at the Bridge Street Cottages. How close are they to town? In other words, can we easily walk to town for dinner and breakfast? The cottages have kitchens, but we won't be in mood for cooking. Thanks.

I believe I remember seeing the Bridge Street Cottages just a little off of Electric Avenue (main street), so it should be an easy walk to resturants.
Electric Avenue goes through the "old" part of Bigfork - where shops and restuarants are located. This part of Bigfork really isn't too large.
Bridge Street Cottages website confirms that they are just off of Electric Avenue. It says: "Our vacation rentals are located on the edge of the village of Bigfork where the Swan River flows into Bigfork Bay. As our name implies, we are on Bridge Street just before the old steel bridge, about a half-block (even though we do not have blocks) off of Electric Avenue - the "no lane" main street that runs through the heart of town."
I would call and ask about their location - this might also give you a sense of their level customer service.
I work at the local Bigfork Chamber of Commerce and is only about one block from downtown bigfork. Hope this helps.
Good choice, Bridge Street Cottages! They are new, tastefully decorated, and some are right on the river. Yes, you will not feel like cooking when you see the great restaurants you will be able to walk to. Elegant dining at Showthyme, La Provence, Montana Bistro, and Swan River Cafe are all within walking distance. Wild Mile Deli for casual but good food. For the best breakfast in the area (or a great lunch) get someone to direct you to the Echo Lake Cafe. It's living proof that an excellent restaurant can be "out in the middle of nowhere" and be an incredible success. Drive out to Swan Lake and eat at the Laughing Horse Lodge for down-home, outrageously good cooking (call first to make sure they're open) 406-886-2080. Enjoy!
