Hi...
We will be in Bigfork July 20-22 and because it looks like you are having a late spring I was wondering what the chances are the cherries will be ripe?
Thanks!

The Polson Cherry Festival (south end of Flathead Lake) is scheduled for July 19 and 20 this year, so I would say you just might be lucky! From experience, I can tell you Flatehead cherries are definitely worth seeking out. Unfortunately, I won't get to Bigfork myself until September 3rd this year... oh well, maybe I'll find some cherry preserves :)
I really hope so...we are staying two nights on the lake with a cherry orchard on the property...they said we could pick all we wanted...sure would be a shame if they weren't ripe yet!
By the way....what's the cherry festival like?
I'm afraid I haven't been to the festival... just picked up cherries at a roadside stand, but here's their brochure so you can see more about it. Sounds like a lot of fun!
You should be able to find some ripe cherries when you are there. Find an orchard that you can pick your own right off the tree. Nothing beats them!! Like exploding cotton candy in your mouth! AWESOME!!
