Had a great time at the Kansas Speedway this past weekend for the STP 400 race - nice facility and very nice area oveall with plenty of shopping and places to eat. It was our first NASCAR event and the crowd - was fun and 'interesting ' LOL - they loved to party and the racing action.
Stayed at the Comfort Suites in Olathe - not convenient to the track but since I made a last minute reservation it was one place we could find with a room available. Nice , clean place, convenient to I-35.
We ate at Oklahoma Joe's BBQ across the parking lot and that was an added plus - great BBQ - best I have had in KC actually.
Visited the Ameristar Casino Saturday night - this facility was quite a bit larger and nicer than the Ameristar 'boat ' up in Council Bluffs, IA near Omaha - it very nice, had a lot of food choices and was not as smokey as the small places. We had a good time there and we both went home with winnings compliments of Ameristar.
