Just a few miles away from New Port Richey is a town called Port Arthur. There is a great Tiki bar and restaurant there called Sams Place. It's great in the evenings for watching the sunsets with good food and live music every night. Great atmosphere and a good time had by all.
Sam's on the beach is in Hudson, FL.-not Port Arthur! Great cheap food, VERY small Tiki bar (only 3 tables) next to restaurant area. Does not have live music every night. We always take visitors there to watch the sunset.
I've been to Sam's twice and find no reason to return. The food is mediocre and menu choices are limited. They accommodate NO requests of any kind - not even leaving off or adding a simple condiment like mayo! The service is slow, and the the deck is crowded and noisy.
Honestly, if Sam's weren't the only restaurant ON the beach for miles, they would have been out of business long ago. Watching the sunset is the ONLY reason to visit Sam's, and you can do that from the beach itself.

Went to Sam's twice last week and had a great experience both times. Service was good, they made changes to 3 of the orders without and trouble and watching the sunset with a cocktail finished it off. Eddie's Monster Burger and Fish Taco both amazing and good sized portions. First night they had a live band and second was just music. Both times had a good mix of people and they were brilliant with the kids.
