 Wheelchair accessible?

Hi. My family & I are planning a small reunion in New Port Richey in October. My dad is in a wheelchair so we have to be sure we find places he can get into.

I'm assuming any nearby casinos/gambling spots won't be a problem.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there's such a thing as a handicap accessible deep sea fishing boat. Dad loves to fish & loves being on boats so I thought that would be a good activity.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Destination Expert   What's this?
for Clearwater

Only casino in the area is the Hard Rock in Tampa. It is a large casino and hotel, and it is very wheelchair accessible.

There may be some fishing boats nearer NPR out of Tarpon Springs, but I don't know of any.

Out of Clearwater Marina, on Clearwater Beach, there are alot of party boats, and charter boats for fishing. clearwater-fl.com/gov/…index.asp

Click on commercial Charter Boats. I'm not sure about accessibility for the wheelchair, but I would call to find out. I'm sure something should be available. Also, on the beach accross from the marina is a great fishing pier called Pier60.

I would contact sun cruz in Port Richey. http://www.portricheycasino.com/casino.php

To get to the Casino you go via boat. I haven't been on this, jsut drove past it a million times. It's very easy to find.

I saw this reply about Sun Crus in Port Richey on a different forum:

The gambling selection is limited. Mostly slot machines but a few tables games...

If I remember correctly they serve free food, which was suprisingly not bad.
