Getting to a mall from Renaissance FLL hotel

Hi all, We are staying at Renaissance Port Everglades hotel April 6 and 7 pre-cruise. I understand there is a Galleria Mall that is the closest mall to this hotel. What are the options for getting there ( water taxi, taxi, bus and what would the costs for each approximately/) Also , is getting to Aventura Mall or Sawgrass Mills Outlets difficult or far?( we won't have a car). Thanks!

The Sun Trolley is the best way to get to the Galleria Mall on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Any other day, pick up the number 40 bus that runs from in front of the hotel to the Galleria Mall. You can transfer to the number 62 bus to The Sawgrass Mills Mall. If you go west on the #40 bus to US1 (Federal Hwy) you can catch the #1 bus to the Aventura Mall. The bus fare is nominal compared to the taxi fare. I think 1 to 2 dollars per person.

An all day pass on the water Taxi is $20.00 per adult and the Galleria Mall is at Stop #2.

A bus jouney to Sawgrass Mills will take for evever and won't be convenient if you make lots of purchases. To drive there from the northern end of the beach takes at least 40 minutes. It's doable but is it worth the hassle when you are only in town for 2 days. The water taxi is $20 per person, it's ver slow (I could walk faster) but it's a scenic way to see Fort Lauderdale from the intracoastal, the crews work for tips so normally give a narration. The Galleria Mall seems to have constant sales on these days so you could baga bargain there, there are some nice retaurants there too and an upscale food court.

Thanks for the replies. The Sun trolley to Galleria mall sounds very doable.

Is Sun Trolley still running to Galleria? I know it did at one time, but I think that service has been curtailed and I don't think I see the sign at Galleria any longer( it used to pick up at the entrance near Capital Grille). I'll see if I can verify.

It's stilll showing on the Sun Trolley site route map , so I guess it is running- I am going to look for the signage on my next Galleria trip- do keep in mind that it is only a daytime service ( stops running completely around 6 ish) on all routes.- Bus #40 does run along 17 th St and up to Galleria even in the evening , though it will be slow , making many stops enroute- you catch it going eastbound across the street and a little west of Rennaisance going up to Galleria- not certain where the stop is coming back, but it should not be far from the hotel .
