Fort Lauderdale Forum: Looking for Restuarant Recommendations near Pelican Grand

Yes, we are renting a car. Was just wondering if there were any decent places around our hotel. Not too loud is important because I am hearing impaired but so its harder for me to hear in very loud places. Have you ever been to the mexican restuarant at the Sheraton?

We were at the Sheraton Mexican Restaurant for happy hour some time ago- my sense is that it might not be the best choice as the patio area is along the beach road with just some shrubs separating you from the traffic noise. It does not overlook the water.Perhaps someone has been there more recently and remembers better than I- i was not crazy abut the food either, but it had just opened and maybe it was still trying to get it right.

Skip Shooters the food is mediocre, it's OK for a quick drink and thats about in IMO. The Chart House is lovely but a bit pricey unless you go at happy hour. If you want somewhere casual with pretty good bar fayre Fishtales is good.

If act there are a few restaurants on NE33rd so you could park on a meter and take a look. I have only tried Fishtales so I can't speak for the others.
