Spent many evenings there in the early 80's while on business in Ft. Lauderdale. Travelling there this week - sorry to hear it's gone - wanted to vist. Yes, the multi-colored hair of the bartenders upstrais was unique. I also remember they had great prime rib and shrimp scampi in the restaurant. It may have changed later, but the "private restaurant" referred to in an above comment was a French restaurant when I was there. The "One Up" had loud music and very noisy - amazing thing - behind the padded door of the restaurant you couldn't hear any of it. Great French Cuisine and, at least when I was there, a jazz harp player for entertainment. Your table was reserved for the evening and curtains could be drawn around the table for privacy. Expensive ($110 for 2 with a bottle of house wine in 1984), but very, very good food.
