When I read about Snowmass Village I think I am not reading about the base of the resort. Is it over by Creekside? Thanks.

Snowmass Village is the Base area at bottom of Fanny Hill the Mall, and further west, Two Creeks. Is Creekside a Lodge or location?
You should probably visit www.aspensnowmass.com to get a sense of the overall resort. Aspen is a mountain and a town, Snowmass is a mountain and a town, and then there are two more mountains without towns: Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands. All four on one lift ticket, free transport, etc. The website will have good aerial imagery that will tell you more.
There is a run over at Two Creeks called Creekside that has a number of residences built along side it so perhaps that is what you are seeing but Snowmass Village is definitely at the base of the main part of Snowmass Mountain. It is where all the major condos are located as well as the "Mall" at the Village Express Lift. There is an upper and lower mall. Upper is the older one, lower is the newer where Treehouse (kids ski school facility) is locted. On some maps you will see Old Snowmass just further down the highway from Snowmass Village, this is the old town before the development of the Snowmass ski resort in the 60's.
