Two summers ago we stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn Colorado Springs Central. We only spent 1 night, but were impressed and met a family at the pool who were staying for 1 month and were very happy. Good breakfast AND and evening happy hour that can double as dinner (not sure if that's every night), a clean pool and a well kept laundry room (3 each washer/drier, if I remember correctly, reasonably priced). Not sure about access to public transport.- looked like there were on a bus line. I'd call them and check. I am unfamiliar with the extended stay pricing. The staff was very helpful. I'd give them a call, and if the price is too high just tell them it's out of your price range and ask for a recommendation. Good luck on the job hunt!
There is a Residence Inn off South Circle that is nice and well located - I can't imagine it is cheap, though. Public transportation is quite limited in Colorado Springs. Is a rental car an option for you?
Also Staybridge Hotel off Woodmen Rd (exit 149 off I-25) has a good setting for an extended stay. You can walk to FREX stop there, though I don't know which way you'd need to go.
Value Inn American Villa (I think) is located in Manitou, but right by the city bus stop. This is more budget place.
Marriott Residence Inn Colorado Springs on North Academy. Stayed there last month for two weeks, and again this mont for two weeks, There are lots of long term residence. Its a great hotel, you will not go wrong with this choice.
Are you familiar with the Value Place franchise? Advertised rates for the Colorado Springs location are $200 a week. It is near the airport so I am not sure how convenient that would be. Family (college kids on a tight budget) stayed in the Value Place in Loveland, CO and said it was fine, very clean. I do not think you will find lodging for less. Read the what to expect section.
see if Drury Inn Pikes Peak will give you a good "month rate". Per day was $79 when we got a deal there (instead of $99). They have food throughout the day so this is cost effective and it's near to opportunities and I would assume travel but don't know exactly (we had a rental car). The recliner in the room was a neat perk, maybe more so for a long time stay.
Oh, yes, Drury Inn is great for long stay! The one in Colorado Springs is located by the Chapel Hills mall.
I see that you've helped a lot of people. Hoping that you can help us. My son is interviewing at the CS Police Academy. He's looking for a motel close by. Suggestions?
What is the location? Will he have transportation? What is his price point?
I think the address is Nevada Street, but he's not 100% sure yet. He'll need to rent a car since he's arriving at the Denver airport the day before Memorial Day. He'll be in COlorado Springs for a week of interviews. He would like to stay in expensively, but a clean place. Thank you so much for helping us!
