hotels & resort vacation club scam

It is very important to know that when you stay at Occidental Hotels and resorts that you will be exposed to a vacation club scam in return for free promotions. The fellow who talks to you will be very friendly. The vacation club sales person will tell you about all the money you will be saving and forget to mention about mandatory all-inclusive fees when you stay at their nicest resorts. The hotels are a different entity from the vacation club but kick back some money in return for the mandatory all-inclusive additional fees in contract.

This means that member (family of four with older children) must pay an addional $4000.00 plus dollars for food and drink to stay in Royal Hideaway for a week, $4000.00 plus dollars to stay in Royal Club at Grand Xcaret for a week, and over $3000.00 to stay in Grand Aruba for a week. This can be more than a non-member pays for the same week that includes the all-inclusive feature.

A non-member has the option of purchasing the all inclusive feature, for a member it is mandatory.

1. Re: hotels & resort vacation club scam

I just came back from Occ. Flamenco in Punta Cana and got sucked in and bought the membership. I now realize that the agent lied to us re. the cost of airfare and when I examined the contract closely at home I realize it is a scam and you end up paying more. Is there any way I can cancel this membership and get my deposit back? Tomorrow will be 5 business days we are back - I hear if you bought it in Mexico you have 5 business days to cancel. Anyone knows?
