You are central and opposite you is the port area where there are a large number of different style bars and some will have entertainment. It is a bit early to say anything other than ask later or explore - it isn´t a big area and it won´t take long and should be fun. Trouble is they change pretty rapidly at the moment and what may be well recommended from last summer could be closed by May.
The London itself and the area behind it has some bars and clubs but they are mainly for the younger crowd.
Otherwise you are a three minute walk to Fish Alley where there plenty of restaurants and one or two more specialised places like Moochers (jazz mostly but not all the time).
