 Classic Escapes Holiday Club

When in a major Perth shopping centre i was offered a scratchy ticket i scratched the ticket and was told i had won a holiday in Queensland but we had to attend a 90 minute seminar to qualify for the holiday.the seminar was a holiday type time share at a cost of $20.500 plus a office fee of $150.00 per year. we declined the membership and asked for our prize. they said they had run out of vouchers and to phone in ten days on phoning i was told with the trauma of the weather in Queensland no vouchers and phone later.mmm i know about time share and the tricks they play being Australia is this a legal scam ? have any of you guys out there ever collected a prize all replys welcome.

In actual fact everyone that goes in get's their prizes. If for whatever reason you did not receive yours then please contact the office and I guarantee you will receive it. Considering the industry is regulated and licensed the you can be assured that it is not a scam.

Hi there. I'm from Melbourne but currently in QLD for the week. I did one of them scratchy things today in which we have won a trip to Thailand/Bali.... We have to attend 90 min presentation on Thursday. The girl told us it's a 4 star place. It's night time now and iv just MSG her informing her that I have medical issues going on (which is true... hence the holiday), and highlighted to her that I don't want to spend 90 min in a presentation if I'm not going to get the prize. I'm surprised she has MSG back, but she promises me that we will get our holiday. I guess time will tell.

We (GF and I) also recently "won" on one of these scratchies offered by Classic Escapes Holiday Club. We attended the presentation, being the open minded people we are, and there's no question that the arrangement looks appealing. Your family and friends can use your membership, over 5000 places worldwide and the "extras" option which extends to stuff outside the 5000 places they have interest in. We paid the deposit ($700) knowing that we had a 7 day cooling off period - which I saw basically as a week to think about it, look into it, read reviews and forums etc. I have struggled to find much positive feedback, there's the occasional positive reply but those replies quite possibly are written by people within the company. It seems that the only people with positive stuff to say are the people selling the product. As for the original prize, we've been given the voucher but I'm not sure we'll end up taking it - as we still have to pay for everything else - travel to and from, meals, entertainment etc.

Short of getting in touch with a few members who are not employees of the company and hearing about some positive experiences we will exercise our right to a refund of the deposit and may or may not use the voucher.

My advice - If you can get together a group of people to share in the cost of the membership and all those people can afford to gamble their share on possibly getting a few good holiday arrangements over the 15 year period then it's probably worth the risk, because over 15 years you can probably work the system to get you a good deal on at least a few occassions.

Whatever you do - don't cough up $7K purely on the sales-peoples word that you are buying 15 years of awesome holidays that you can pick and choose - there just doesn't seem to be anyone that can verify this claim.

The entire thing sounds awfully like the Absolute holiday scam operating in Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore to me. Those who have resolutely and doggedly pursued their "free" holiday have ended up somewhere way off the beaten track (sometimes on unpaved dirt roads where transport to and from costs a huge amount just to leave the hotel grounds), no alternatives nearby only the hotel for all meals, run down or dysfunctional plumbing/aircond/fridge and only excuses from embarrassed or disinterested housekeeping/maintenance....need I go on? Guaranteed to ruin your holiday.

Just say no and walk away, remember you have paid a lot to get to your destination and these scammers are trying to steal both your holiday time and your cash money. Dont give them a cent.

They where at the Perth Convention centre while the truck show was on the catch is big money the prize is not worth the trouble they will not tell you what hotels are valid plus you pay a booking fee my opinion forget it
