 Coachtrans- worst transfer to use?

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this with this company but just wanted to share my experience this with others as a word of warning:

I have been with this company twice and each time they have found a way to ruin my booking. The first time the van broke down because the driver didn't realise he didn't have any petrol even though we had driven past many petrol stations! We had to wait on the side of the road for another Coachtrans bus to pick us up, while listening to the driver swearing on the phone to whoever was on the receiving end. We weren't offered any compensation for the inconvenience and it was just lucky that another company drove past, saw us stranded and decided to help us out and dropped us off to where we needed to be free of charge. For anyone that was on a tight schedule, this would have been very frustrating.

The second time I went wit them their res team gave me the wrong info for pick up which meant I missed my bus and their next service meant I would miss my flight from Brisbane. So I had to fork out an extra $200AUD to get to the airport and they had said they wouldn't reimburse me just because I had not taken their service. How could I when the only other option they gave me meant I would miss my international flight and their team told me to wait at the wrong place, where I had been waiting there for 5 hours when I supposedly thought I was going to get picked up! Being a travel agent myself, this is very appalling customer service.

There are many other transfer companies in Brisbane/Goldcoast- word of warning, don't choose this one!

If you used them before and weren't happy why would you use them again?

And you mentioned that you waited in the wrong place for 5 hours and are a travel agent?? Oh come on!

How odd. You just joined TA today and all 3 posts are the same?

I had decided to give them another go because the first time didn't affect me much as sure they ran out of petrol but I wasn't on a tight schedule. But what they did the second time was not acceptable. I waited at the hotel for five hours because my flight was a night flight, it was pouring down as this was the period where there was flooding in the area and we could not go anywhere. So I don't appreciate your comment about me waiting somewhere for five hours and being a travel agent.

As per the company's request I had given them a call in the a day beforehand to reconfirm my booking which their reservation team had advised my pick up time at the hotel. It was not until later the afternoon when I had called wondering where my bus was that they had advised me that "sorry you were told to wait at the wrong pick up, we can't access your hotel so you should be waiting around the corner instead". Not only did they not take any customer phone numbers (which most companies do as part of good customer service, just in case something like this happens) but they just said - sorry, I'll tell our team to update their details.

Also, I am new to this so sorry if I posted it three times.

Well, if there was flooding in the area, you were lucky to go anywhere.

This was in December last year so during when the flooding had just started. So yes we was very lucky to have been able to at least finish our trip before we were affected too much by it.

agree, it is pretty slack bus company didnt take a contact number, especially if they knew there was possibility of road closures. most take mobile number as part of booking process. breakdowns can happen (I had friend on brand new Greyhound coach on its first trip out of Sydney stuck like that, and the replacement bus broke down before Byron Bay but I am sure 99% time most companies run hassle free ), running out of fuel shouldnt.

Thinking the OP must have been unlucky Coachtrans have been in business long tim, before there was ever train line Aiport-City-Gold Coast...they wouldnt still be in business if these incidents happened often

A travel agent who waits patiently for FIVE hours without doing something sooner especially when an international flight is involved. Please Please tell me the name of your company so I can recommend other travellers to avoid it. I am assuming of course that you followed the information you would gaiven your clients.

You say that these problems occurred over 7 months ago.

Why now have you come to TA after such a long period. As an experienced(?) travel agent I would have thought you would have come here sooner or using the influence you have in the industry have managed to resolve compensation with Coachtrans.

I have been having problems with an airline over the recent ash clouds for over a month, but my travel agents seem to have resolved the issue in about 10 days using their collective clout.

I await answers with interest

For the record Coachtrans is a well respected transport company in Australia and has been operating for many years.

And I dont appreciate your private messages spouting this same rubbish to me.
