Just a thought, have you been to the Gold Coast with it's myriad of theme parks? There is the Seaworld Resort which has a pool etc and right near Seaworld itself.

There is also Wet and Wild which has heaps of water based activities for the kids while you relax.

Peppers at Broadbeach - Gold Coast

Peppers at kingcliff - Nth NSW

Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast - great for families.

Sheraton at Noosa.

Novotel Twin Waters resort - Sunshine Coast - apartment -

Hamilton Island Beach Club

Hayman Island - Whitsundays

Heron island - Great barrier Reef - fab for kids.

Or

Seaworld Resort, Hyatt Coolum, Hyatt Regency Cove and a 2nd vote for Novotel Twin Waters although have read many posts recommending the Grand Mecure apartments adjacent to Twin Waters and you still get to use all the Novotel facilities. Hayman apparently run really good kids programs during school holidays.
