“ Ware - Child friendly place for Sunday lunch? ”

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a child-friendly place for a reasonably priced decent Sunday lunch in, or near, Ware (Hertfordshire) please?

We were thinking of the Vine pub on Ware High St. at one point, but some friends have recently found that the standard of the food there has deteriorated, so, we are looking for an alternative.

If anyone can recommend a nice child-friendly country pub (or cafe / restaurant) in or near Ware which serves a decent Sunday lunch which won't break the bank, it would be much appreciated. We aren't too fussed if it does a Sunday roast or not, as long as the food is good.

There are two nice pubs in Wareside about three miles east on the road to Much Hadham and Widford. Both have plenty of space for children to roam and reasonably priced menus. The countryside on that side of Ware is extremely good if you want to go for a walk, just be very wary of the B Road which is narrow and many drivers do not slow down and pay attention to road conditions sufficiently.

Just to check with you - are the 2 pubs called 'The Chequers' and 'The White Horse'?

I would always recommend the Rose and Crown just on the watton road going out of the town. Sunday lunch is always lovely and there is a big enclosed garden at the back which is very child friendly. Great hosts as well.
