 Kilkenny to Cashel and back--help!

Hi, Will be arriving in Kilkenny March 13th from Dublin. Leaving Kilkenny for Cork on March 15th. Ideally would like to go on March 14th, which is a Sunday, to Rock of Cashel. Is this do-able? I would have to use public transport. I dont mind getting up early or a lengthy bus ride, but i know buses are more limited on Sundays.... and also i have been told its easier to go to Cashel from Cork....however, the "free" day i have while in Cork, i am planning to do a day trip to Kinsale. Please, any ideas, thoughts, suggestions????

thankya!

The short answer is no, for some reason it is virtually impossible to get from Kilkenny to Cashel by public transport. There are buses but they do not meet up and it takes two days just to do the trip, which is totally ridiculous.

Cork to Cashel is a regular service taking about 11/2 hours but as stated it could take over 3 hours from Kilkenny.

There is a Bus from Kilkenny to Cashel 13.15 arriving 16.50 with 45mins changeover in Portlaoise. The return would be Cashel 18.50 to Kilkenny 21.35 with two changes. That's over 6hours travelling for a 2hour visit and hoping all 5 buses are actually going to run as they should on a Sunday service.
