It is right on the sea front used by coaching companies usually with "older" clients.

The front areas are fine but I do not know about the bedrooms. People we ahve spoken to said the rooms were OK and the food was great. (But I do not think they were looking for haute cuisine, just plain English food)

Barstaff are very helpful and friendly.

Hope this helps

Hi

My mother and her friend stayed here 4 weeks ago following an advertised trip through southern daily echo. The company was 'The Coach holiday.com'

This hotel was appaling. we are currently processing a complaint. The manager was unprofessional unshaven and unhelpful. We had cold water to shower early am and the food was disgraceful. i would definately NOT recomment it.

I would concur with the above comments from BusterNorman. Room was freshly decorated and clean but uncarpeted and cold. Food was poor, overcooked tasteless vegetables, overcooked and ruined meat. Hard to believe it was cooked by a professional!

my mother, grandmother and myself visited this hotel in may of 2008.

all the rooms we were in cerainly didnt have a seaview, one had a brick wall, another had a view of the bins and the other had a view of the kitchen vents which were very noisy each meal time, making the floors and bed vibrate.

The furniture was ancient, and the beds were army issue and very uncomfortable.the food, well, it was tasteless, overcooked, unimaginative and horrible.

the shower rooms were new and ok and the rooms werent cold, infact sometimes too warm.

We shall not under any circumstances be visiting this hotel EVER AGAIN!

u have been warned.

We have just returned from the Tarvic 2 Hotel (12-17 July 2008) and wonder if we were in the same place as some of the other reviewers.

We stayed here as part of a coach party - on arrival there was afternoon tea and biscuits awaiting us (which is a first)and a welcome from the manager.

The food was basically and plainly cooked (to cater for all tastes) but was of good quality and variety. They gave very generous portions and there was a three choice menu for each course.

The room we had did have a sea view and was larger than normal, the shower room and toilet had been newly renovated. The towels and bed linen were of very good quality and prestine white.

There was always hot water for showering and washing at all times of the day.

There is tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was replenished every day. The colour television only had four channels but a very good picture and colour.

The dining staff were delightful and quickly and efficiently attended to your request. The 'working' manager who was always there doing some job or other but was ready to stop and chat to the guests.

There was entertainment every night which was fun.

There were two coach parties at the hotel and I did not hear any grouse or complaint from anyone,

there was a nice atmosphere. The hotel is in a gorgeous position in Sandown on the sea front and is in near walking distance to the town.

Taking into account the cost of the break and the quality of the Tarvic 2 - a very good enjoyable deal.

I can think of no reason not to recommend this Hotel.

the rooms are very good and clean, it is aimed at older generations but all ages are welcome. the food there is pretty awful and you would probably have to go somewhere else for your evening meal. the entertainment is about average , nothing special.

overall i enjoyed my stsy there and would reccomend it to friends.
