Shanklin Forum: Good reasonably priced restaurant in Shanklin?

I was in The Crab a month ago. Food by numbers really, nothing special. The Fisherman's Cottage seemed better but we didn't eat there in the end. All these places are swamped in summer. We also had a medioce Chinese so I can't even recommend that. The place next to "The Steamer" on the prom was probably the best meal we had.

There must be some good places locally. The Thai restaurant in the High Street was recommended to me but my daughter didn't fancy it.

You don't really go to that part of the island for fine dining though. I'd suggest that you fill up on the B&B breakfast, have sandwiches for lunch and fish and chips for tea.

If you have a car there are some really good "eating" pubs, which are worth the ( 10 -20 min) Journey from Shanklin.
