How to get from Lisboa to Tavira by bus or by train? Which is better way to travel? How to get from Lisboa Portela airport to bus or train station?
Thank you!

You can travel by bus or train.
Lisbon Oriente train station is 5 minutes by taxi or 10 minutes by bus (44 or Aerobus 2) from the airport. From there, five trains leave each day to Faro and from Faro there are local train connections to Tavira.
You can get train times and make reservations (required to Faro) at www.cp.pt and to get the site in English click on the little flag icon at the top of the page next to where it says 'Accesso Rapido'.
A ticket will be about 25 Euros.
Alternatively, you can travel by RENEX bus from the adjacent Oriente bus terminal. www.renex.pt for the times and fares - site is in Portuguese only.
There is also bus service from Lisbon Sete Rios bus terminal to Tavira but Sete Rios is 6km from the airport. Bus (*Aerobus 3) or taxi required - there is no metro at the airport. The website for that bus serviceis www.rede-expressos.pt and that site is available in English.
Bus ticket is about 20 Euros.
I prefer the train but the buses ar more frequent and cheaper.
I hope that helps.
Very good information! Thanks!
One more question: Are Oriente bus station and train station in the same building? When we get off from the airport bus, do we have to know which station we choose? Do they have the same bus stop?
The train and bus stations at Oriente are not in the same building but there is a footbridge connecting the two, or you can walk across the road into the train station building. They are barely 25 metres apart.
The airport bus to Oriente runs non-stop. The Oriente bus terminal is a big place, you will know when you arrive there!
Aerobus stops at the buses area, it's an open air station, to go to the trains you have to enter into the building, that's the train station..
Thanks again!
