Antwerp - this Sunday - where to buy presents?

I have a stopover in Antwerp this Sunday, I've only got a few hours and I need to get some christmas shopping done.

I'm mostly looking to buy food/drink as gifts as well as some small non-food gifts.

Are there any traditional local gifts that people give at christmas (either food or non-food)? and where are the best places to shop for them that open on Sundays?

Also any suggestions on local foods to try when I grab a bite of lunch?

I think shops are closed on Sundays in Antwerp.

However there is a big open air market that sells everything from bicycles to budgerigars.

Next Sunday, the 18th, everything will be open in Antwerp, due to Xmas shopping. If you don't have much time, go straight to Galeria Inno, a department store where you can find most anything you want. Galeria Inno (on Meir) is on the main axe from Central Station to Groenplaats/Grote Markt. It's a good 10 min. walk from Central Station.

Stop by Del Rey's (http://www.delrey.be/en/) bakery and chocolate shop, just a few steps away from the central station - their products are incredible! A very typical souvenir would be the chocolate hands (handjes), but you'll find them cheaper elsewhere; on the other hand, their cookies, there cakes and their marshmallows are delicious.

Antwerp is also very famous for its diamonds (which I guess you won't be buying for all of your friends) and fashion - take a look at Essentiel (http://essentiel.be/), which is local but won't set you back like other Antwerp brands could.

Finally, if you want to buy everything in one shop and get it over with, check out Your (http://your-antwerp.com/) in 'tZuid - it sells clothes, shoes, accessories, books, gadgets, decorations... and then grab a bite in the Café Shilling, which is less than 5 minutes away.
