Kinderdijk and Muiderslot. Any other interesting places we should consider on the way or close to Amsterdam?

I'm also thinking about Keukenhof but since we'll be doing this last weekend in March it might be too early for flowers.

for Olympic National Park, Port Townsend

The Kröller-Müller Museum and the Hoge Veluwe National Park are great. Having a car saves messing with the bus connection.

Yep I would think about places that are not connected by train like Muiden (Muiderslot Castle), maybe also take a drive across the Afsluitdijk between Den Oever and Leeuwarden.

Take a drive to Den Helder and then the ferry to Texel. Visit the dolphinarium at Hardewijk (although I get the feeeling that is not open until Easter).

Drive to Marken,
