Amsterdam Forum: Restaurants off Leidesplein near Owl Hotel in Amsterdam

Hello. De Klos is a fantastic place for great steaks, ribs, and chops. A friend and I also ate the ribs at the Satellite Sports bar, and they were tasty. There is also a chinese restaurant on the same side of the street as the McD's, which is good. It's upstairs. If you have never stayed at the Owl, you're going to love it. The chinese restaurant Taste of Culture on Korte Leidsedwarsstraat 139 is far better.

Reasonable priced, big portions (with doggy bags!) and original chinese food, a nice suprise between all those touristtraps on the Leidseplein.

Open till 1.00 or 3.00 AM.

Wok to Walk is a good fast-food Asian place... and for Indonesian we enjoyed Puri Mas twice in past few years (although Indonesian rijstaffel is a bit 'expensive' in my book)... and we usually hit Hard Rock once each visit -- minimal waiting, consistent good food and view over the canal behind.

Cafe De Klos is my favorite restaurant anywhere. Subdued, indifferent service aside you can't beat the food anywhere.
