You are from the US and you'll be driving, look to your right at the FAQ's and study the driving rules and the dreaded ZTL's and now bus lanes. Stop at your local AAA and get an International Driving Permit, they're about $20 and good for 1 yr.

I don't drive, but in reading the forums, I've gathered you can pick up and drop off rented vehicles at different locations in Italy, and you do not have to return the car to the agency you got it from.

Thanks for all the information. I was using US based companies (Budget, Dollar, etc..) and being to specific to Camogli. After your post I googled specifically "car rentals in Italy" and found what I was looking for. I will have to return the vehicle in Genoa, which is fine. Thanks again for the help
