 ACTV Tourist Card questions

We are arriving at 10.40pm Marco Polo Airport and plan to overnight at Venice Resort Tessera before moving on to Venice the next day, then on to Verona in 2 days. Can someone plse explain how the ACTV tourist card will work for us?

We need to take the bus no 5 to our hotel as the other buses are no longer operational at that hour.

Can we buy the 72 hr ACTV tourist card with Aerobus no 5 option and use it for the night we arrive to get to the hotel and then hop on the no 5 again the next day from where we dropped off to Venice? Does it work that way as it's only one bust stop fm the airport? Or do we need to pay another EUR3 to take the no 5 to Venice the next day? Or should we just take the local bus 15 or 45?

Many thanks!

There is plenty of transport - ACTV bnuses, ATVO expres coaches and Alilaguna ferries running from Marco Polo the 7 kilometres into Venice until around mid-night. So why not go straight to Venice and enjoy an evening there and a late meal as there are restaurants open quite late> I see little pint spending a preliminary night in Tessera which is not like Venice ata ll.

You can then buy you ACTV ticket when you are in vencie if you decide you need to use a wtaer bus but no real need unless you wish to go to some of the outlying islands as the city is very walkable.

In answer to your question, as I understand it the answer is yes - the "surcharge" for using bus number 5 with the ACTV tourist card only applies to journeys to/from the airport itself, not journeys to/from the bus stops inbetween.

If you are taking the No5 bus why not go straight to Venice and get to your hotel instead of doing it a day later ?
