We are travelling to Bergamo for New Year's eve (2012) and I was wondering where to go i.e which square, and are there fireworks displays or open air music celebration etc.
Also, any suggestions on which restaurants to eat on New years eve evening?
Please help us have a wonderful Birthday (it is on New Year's!!!)

I haven't heard of anything yet ( it's early ) but there's usually an open air celebration in Piazzale Degli Alpini - Lower Bergamo, near the railway station.

As for restaurants there are many restaurants but you MUST absolutely book as many Italians eat out that evening.

That evening there's a special menu and prices are quite high so ask for the price before booking.
